Service Manager Carmen Hinton of Carter Myers Automotive’s Valley Subaru in Staunton, Virginia was announced as the grand prize winner of this year’s Women Driving Auto Retail video contest, sponsored by Stellantis.

Hinton who joined the auto retail industry with little experience and has been with Carter Myers Automotive for 11 years said in her video: “I love what I do. I am still learning every day. There are still obstacles that I am overcoming, but I feel like it has made me a better person.”

“Carmen Hinton is one of our rock stars. We just saw a spark in her that was amazing. She’s such a great example for women who may not see a career path in automotive,” said Liza Borches, President and CEO of Carter Myers Automotive.

Now in its fifth year, this year’s contest garnered more than 150 video entries representing women in every dealership department and career levels submitted inspirational videos describing how their auto retail career journey began and why the industry is a great career path for other women.

Ten semifinalists were named in early March with the grand prize winner announced at NADA Show 2020 on Sunday, March 13. Hinton will receive a $1,000 gift card plus complimentary registration to NADA Show 2023 in Dallas.
