In one of the first-released episodes of NADA’s new podcast Driving Ahead, former Super Bowl champion turned Toyota dealer Peter Boulware talks about lessons that translate from the football field to the board room.

Boulware played as a defensive linebacker for the Florida State University Seminoles under legendary coach Bobby Bowden and credits him as “an incredible mentor and leader” who taught him “how to be a man, how to be a leader.” Bowden also encouraged Boulware to think about his career after football and his impact in the community.

After college, Boulware was a first-round pick for the Baltimore Ravens and did not disappoint as he was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1997 and helped his team win Super Bowl XXXV in 2000. Listen in to hear his advice on how teams can achieve incredible goals.

He retired from the Ravens in 2005 and opened Peter Boulware Toyota in Tallahassee, Fla., and explains how he learned about what each department does in the dealership. He also discusses what he thinks are the keys to promoting diversity in our industry, the responsibility we have to do so and how his passion for uplifting future generations led him and his wife to create a bustling nonprofit private Christian school.
