Assurant Continues Support for NADA Foundation’s Workforce Initiative with $25,000 Donation

LAS VEGAS (March 12, 2022)—Assurant, Inc., a global provider of lifestyle and housing solutions that support, protect and connect major consumer purchases like automobiles, has contributed $25,000 through its Assurant Foundation to the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Foundation’s Workforce Initiative. Senior vice president of Assurant dealer services and strategic accounts Jeff Strickland presented NADA chairman Paul Walser and NADA Foundation chairwoman Annette Sykora with a check during a segment on NADA Live Stage on Saturday, March 12.

“Preparing people for jobs in auto dealerships means opening up a world of opportunities with excellent wages, benefits and career paths where they can thrive,” said Strickland. “In particular, we support the NADA Foundation’s efforts to bring greater diversity to the dealership workforce and show that these careers are open to all.”

NADA Foundation launched the Workforce Initiative in 2019 to harmonize industry efforts and offer a brand-neutral tool for recruiting service technicians and sparking an interest in service technician careers. In recent years, the NADA Foundation has broadened the initiative to enhance recruitment of all dealership roles and within all departments.

“The auto retail industry offers a variety of career paths for the next generation entering the workforce—many of which can be pursued without a four-year college degree,” said Annette Sykora, chairwoman of the NADA Foundation and 2008 NADA chairwoman. “Helping people learn more about a career path that they might not have previously considered is so important. Thanks to Assurant, the NADA Foundation can continue to showcase the dynamic opportunities of automotive careers for all especially historically disadvantaged people.”

This is the second donation by Assurant to the NADA Workforce Initiative bringing the total contribution to $50,000.
