Ambassador Spotlight: Bradshaw and Family Support Local Organizations through the NADA Charitable Foundation

Published

GREER, S.C. (Sept. 4, 2014) To encourage his family members to get involved in community service, William Bradshaw has named them Ambassadors of the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation.

"By involving family in the Ambassador's program, you are promoting a legacy of giving back," said Bradshaw, president of Bradshaw Automotive Group in Greer, S.C., and former chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association. "The earlier in life people experience the joy and satisfaction of helping others, the more likely they will continue to give back."

Since 2001, Bradshaw has provided 10 grants totaling $17,000 to local organizations, which include the Greenville Tech Foundation, Mitchell Road Christian Academy, Grace Church Pelham and GHS Children's Hospital.

With a tax-deductible contribution of $10,000, an Ambassador can provide a $1,500 grant every three years in perpetuity. Donors with three or more gifts of $10,000 are designated Ambassadors of Distinction and can provide a $2,000 grant every year in perpetuity.

"The Ambassadors program is an excellent way to structure a portion of your charitable giving," added Bradshaw, an NADA Foundation trustee. "Your one time donation will continue to support local organizations for generations."

In addition to naming four family members and himself as Ambassadors, Bradshaw named his late business partner and mentor, Ed Sherwood, an Ambassador. "I felt establishing an ambassadorship in his name was a way to acknowledge the impact he had on my life."

Bradshaw also plans to name his three grandchildren as Ambassadors to carry on the family tradition of community support.

"The NADA Charitable Foundation is an excellent way for us and all dealers to give back to the communities that have helped support our dealerships throughout the country," he added.
