This workshop will provide a "year in review" of significant federal laws, regulations, guidance documents and court cases that affect dealerships. It will also identify potential compliance strategies and resources for managing dealers' federal compliance obligations. Learn more.

Select, Manage and Change Dealer Service Providers

Learn best practices to identify, select, contract, manage and change service providers of all types. This session will focus on DMS providers and service providers with access to customer information or other property of the dealership. Learn ways to ensure service providers are not deemed agents or employees of the dealership and what the FTC and state attorneys general expect of dealers with respect to managing service providers of all types. Capitol Hill Update and Dealer Advocacy

Coming off the November elections, staff from NADA's Capitol Hill office will provide auto and truck dealers updates on key public policy issues under consideration in Congress. The presentation will highlight late-breaking and ongoing legislative issues and lobbying efforts by NADA/ATD and provide specific ways for dealers to educate lawmakers through in-person, virtual and other digital capabilities. Sell Cars Remotely Without Driving Afoul of the Law

COVID challenged dealers to sell vehicles to consumers beyond the confines of the store, but there may be hidden legal issues and liability. For dealers, car transactions include marketing, negotiating, getting credit approved, signing the sale documents and ultimately delivering the vehicle.
