14 Innovative Companies Compete in NADA’s First Pitch Competition

It was fast. It was fun. And it was definitely unscripted.

In an NADA Show first, 14 contestants took to the Live Stage on Friday, Jan. 26, to compete for a shiny glass award and the glory of being named the inaugural winner of the NADA Show Pitch Competition.

Whittled down from 65 video submissions, each of the finalists had two minutes to present their best elevator pitches before a panel of three distinguished judges.

The judges – Wes Lutz, president of Extreme Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, RAM Inc. in Jackson, Mich.; Anita Castriota, managing partner at Castriota Chevrolet Inc. in Hudson, Fla.; and Scott Dube, president of Bill Dube Hyundai in Wilmington, Mass. – scored each contestant on their presentations, paying special attention to how the proposed products would solve a problem faced by auto dealers.

The solutions covered every aspect and department – from an app for ordering parts via photos and texts to a platform that automates the warranty claims process. The NADA Show Pitch competitors had innovative ideas for solving pain points throughout the dealership.

The winner was 1Micro Key Management. Regional manager Jamie Crum gave the pitch for his company’s cloud-based key management system, which includes an app that shows who has the key, how long they’ve had it and where it’s at.
