“John Dingell was a legend, an icon, and one of the most dedicated and effective public servants this country has ever had. His efforts to help and shape this great industry of ours are truly without rival. That was evident in the way he always took to heart the concerns of dealers and the men and women of the auto retail sector, and the way he tirelessly went about building bipartisan consensus for every issue that came across his desk. The U.S. auto industry and the people of Michigan in particular owe Congressman Dingell a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid."
