Issue Alert: NADA Consumer and Compliance Guides Endorsed by Prestigious Civil Rights Organizations
The National Urban League and League of United Latin American Citizens Endorse NADA's Publications Empowering Consumers and Promoting Fair Credit
What’s new: The National Urban League (NUL) and League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) have officially endorsed three NADA consumer and compliance guides.
Why it matters: Both NUL and LULAC are nationally respected civil rights organizations with longstanding commitments to uplifting historically underserved communities. Their endorsements confirm that franchised dealers align with their missions and values, providing valuable guidance to individuals throughout the car purchasing process.
Details on endorsed guides: NADA’s Know Before You Buy brochure educates consumers on the key items and issues they need to consider to make the best decision for their budget and needs. It also empowers consumers with clear and practical information to help them navigate the car-buying or leasing process with confidence.
NADA’s Fair Credit Compliance Policy & Program offers dealers a comprehensive, voluntary guide to help comply with federal fair credit laws by providing recommendations on non-discriminatory financing to all customers regardless of any demographic factors.
NADA’s Voluntary Protection Products: A Model Dealership Policy provides dealers with a strong optional framework for offering voluntary protection products in a consumer-friendly and compliant manner. By emphasizing clear, fair, and transparent product pricing disclosures, the policy helps eliminate consumer confusion and supports dealers in building trust and long-term customer relationships.
The National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers and the American International Automobile Dealers Association have also endorsed these publications.
Special thanks: NADA thanks NUL and LULAC for their continued partnership in helping to educate and inform consumers about the process of purchasing and financing new vehicles.
Go deeper: NADA encourages dealers to share the consumer brochure with their employees and customers and to strongly consider adopting the compliance guides.
