Think of the women who have shaped your life: your mom, wife, aunt, grandmother, daughter, friend or mentor. Whether she’s faced cancer herself or not, you can honor her with a simple act of care: helping someone get to treatment.
The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery® program connects patients with volunteer drivers who provide free rides to and from cancer appointments. For patients who can’t drive themselves or lack reliable transportation, that ride can make a difficult day a little easier — and help ensure transportation doesn’t stand between them and the care they need.
The NADA Foundation is the national Road To Recovery sponsor because we as auto dealers are uniquely positioned to help solve the transportation issues many cancer patients face. You can become a volunteer driver and give your time to a patient in your community. Or, if driving isn’t right for you, help recruit others. Invite friends, family or colleagues to join you, and spread the word through your workplace or community.
Every ride is a reminder that people don’t have to face cancer alone. This month, or any day of the year, honor the women in your life by helping someone else get where they need to go.
