When Korey Neal was a junior in high school, his father came home with surprising news: He had purchased a truck and school bus dealership. That decision launched an enduring family enterprise — and eventually provided an enticing reason for Neal to return home after college and a successful stint playing football at Eastern Michigan University.

Today, Neal is president and CEO of K. Neal Truck and Bus Center, a full-service commercial dealership with four locations serving the Washington, D.C., region. What began with International trucks and IC Bus has grown to include Isuzu, Hino and other brands, and the company has built a noteworthy reputation as a school bus retailer, selling nearly 500 buses in a year.

A key part of the dealership’s success lies in its commitment to the community, according to Neal. In this NADA member profile, Neal reflects on the satisfaction of building and maintaining a business with a clear vision and a foundation based on purposeful action.

Watch the profile to learn how family legacy, competitive drive and community responsibility all play an important role in Neal’s approach to running a thriving dealership — and why one particular investment is an especially meaningful part of its mission.
