The slogans are punny, and the signs are pink, but make no mistake – franchised dealerships are serious about breast cancer awareness month. Whether it is financially supporting their local hospital’s cancer wing, providing care baskets to patients or hosting promotions to drive awareness, automotive retail leaders are stepping up to help the research and care efforts.

Below are just a few of the dealerships and automotive groups who have found creative ways to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer this October:

  • Fields Automotive Group in Jacksonville, Fla., hosted the Pink Ribbon Soiree to raise funds for community members who cannot afford mammogram screenings.
  • Jim Robinson Ford in Wheeling, W.Va., hosted their 14th annual “Warrior Quilt Project,” where community members can decorate quilts that will be donated to local hospitals where women are receiving breast cancer treatment.
  • Marquette GMC in Marquette, Mich., matched community donations to five local families undergoing cancer treatment. This is their fourth year leading the fundraising effort and have raised more than $27,000 cumulatively.
  • South Carolina area dealers, including Vaden Automotive Group, Hilton Head BMW and Grainger Honda, raised $3,500 with the help of America’s Auto Auction Savannah for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to fund breast cancer research.
  • South Florida AutoNation filled 450 Totes for Hope cancer comfort bags and delivered them to local cancer treatment centers.
  • Swope Toyota in Elizabethtown, Ky., hosted the Tails and TaTas Breast Cancer Awareness 5K for runners, walkers and their pets to support local cancer care.
  • Bob Ross Auto Group President Jenell Ross in Dayton, Ohio, has raised $140,000 to date in support of women battling breast cancer through the Norma J Ross Memorial Foundation in honor of her mother.
