McLEAN, Va. (Sept. 12, 2012) - Commercial truck dealers and their managers planning to attend the American Truck Dealers (ATD) Convention and Expo in Orlando, Fla., in February are encouraged to register by Oct. 5 to take advantage of early-bird registration rates-a $150 discount off the onsite rate.

"Orlando is hosting several events next February, so hotel rooms will fill up quickly," said Joe Jenkins, chairman of ATD's convention committee. "We're encouraging ATD members to register early and reserve the hotel rooms of their choice." Six out of 21 convention hotels have already sold out.

The 50th annual ATD convention, which will be held at the Orange County Convention Center from Feb. 8-11, 2013, will once again run concurrently with the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Expo.

The lineup of keynote speakers include Troy A. Clarke, president and chief operating officer for Navistar, Inc.; Bob Costello, chief economist of the American Trucking Associations; Dennis Snow, a former Walt Disney World executive trainer; and ATD Chairman Richard Witcher.

Dealers will also meet face-to-face with their manufacturer executives at 12 franchise meetings and with exhibitors in the ATD Zone on the expo floor.

NADA/ATD University will be offering nine workshop topics (16 total workshop sessions) for truck dealers and their managers to learn and implement ways to improve their business operations.

ATD attendees can also attend any of the NADA workshops and general sessions, which include industry keynote speaker John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America; inspirational keynote speaker Mark Kelly, space shuttle commander of Endeavour's final mission and husband of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords; NADA Chairman Bill Underriner; and incoming NADA Chairman David Westcott.
