Workforce Grants

The NADA Foundation works with the ATAEs to identify and award grants to advance workforce initiatives across the country to help mitigate the shortage of technicians in the automotive industry.

The Challenge

Service Technicians

The automotive and truck retail industries continue to face a shortage of service technicians. About 39,000 new service techs graduate from U.S. career technical colleges and training programs each year. Yet the industry needs to replace nearly 76,000 techs each year to keep up with retirements and new job demand. That’s leaves an annual shortfall of about 37,000 trained techs, NADA estimates. The NADA Foundation seeks to promote service technician careers and recruit the next generation of dealership service technicians through access to training and scholarships.
