Automotive Specialist with a Concentration in Electric Vehicles

  • Results in Department of Labor certification
  • Based on 197 competencies
    • 60% ICE and 40% EV
  • Lasts from 18 to 24 months
  • Includes 2,000 hours of hands-on experience
  • Requires 405 hours of related technical instruction
    • Can be completed in-person and online
    • Aligned with curriculum at ASE-accredited schools
  • Features strong mentor-apprentice relationship
  • Includes two wage increases for apprentices
    • One mid-program and one at completion
  • Supports content for ASE Certification Tests:
    • A4: Suspension and Steering
    • A5: Brakes
    • G1: Auto Maintenance and Light Repair
    • xEV: Electric Vehicles Awareness and Safety
      (Apprentices must pay for and pass certification tests)
