Issue Alert: NADA Board elects Sandy Fitzgerald Angello as Chairman for 2027, and Jeff Weber as Vice Chairman

Published

What's new: Today, the NADA Board of Directors elected Sandy Fitzgerald Angello as chairman for 2027. Angello, vice president and dealer operator of Pohanka Automotive Group of Salisbury in Maryland, will succeed Rob Cochran, president and CEO of #1 Cochran, in western Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio.

Jeff Weber, president and general manager of Anderson-Weber Toyota in Dubuque and Toyota of Muscatine, both in Iowa, has been elected NADA’s next vice chairman.

Why it matters: Angello’s election marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the second woman to serve as NADA chairman, following Annette Sykora in 2008. Angello expressed that she will focus on strengthening advocacy and protecting opportunities for franchised dealers:

“I am truly honored to be elected as the next NADA chairman. Given the current challenges facing the auto retail industry, it’s important that we continue building on our advocacy efforts and delivering results for our Main Street businesses and valued customers. The franchised dealer system has given me the opportunity to build a successful business, create good-paying jobs, and serve my community in many meaningful ways. As NADA chairman, I will fight to ensure that the next generation has those same opportunities.”

More election results: Joe Massarelli, president of Liberty Auto City in Libertyville, Illinois, will continue to serve as secretary. Kirt Frye, president of Sunnyside Automotive Group in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, was reelected treasurer.

What’s next: Angello and Weber's new terms will take effect in February at the NADA Show 2027 in Orlando, Florida.
