116 Organizations Unite Behind FET Suspension to Help Rebuild the U.S. Economy, Retain Jobs and Spur the Sale of Newer, Cleaner Trucks

ATD, including 116 organizations representing trucking, logistics, manufacturing, and other industries, sent a letter to congressional leaders urging suspension of the burdensome federal excise tax (FET) levied on the sale of new heavy-duty trucks and trailers in future coronavirus pandemic legislation. Suspension of the FET, until the end of 2021, would be an extremely effective way to spur sales of newer cleaner trucks, which would save jobs in the trucking sector and help rebuild our economy.
