TYSONS, Va. (Feb. 19, 2026) – The American Truck Dealers (ATD), a division of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), welcomes David Bell, who will join the organization as its new president, effective March 2, 2026.

“David’s considerable experience in transportation policy will make him a successful leader for America’s franchised truck dealers,” said Kevin Holmes, ATD Chairman and president of Advantage Truck Group. “We look forward to working together to build a stronger trucking future.”

Bell recently served as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) director of the Office of Governmental Affairs, Policy and Strategic Planning, where he worked on transportation safety priorities. Prior to joining NHTSA, Bell was the director of legislative affairs and a lead lobbyist at ATD. Bell also served as the director of government relations at the American Traffic Safety Services Association.

“NADA and ATD are honored to have David back, this time at the helm,” said NADA President and CEO Mike Stanton. “He brings extensive knowledge and heart to the organization, and he will be a strong advocate for our dealer members.”

Bell graduated from Rutgers University and received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science.
