Crises often yield opportunities for learning and growth not possible under normal circumstances. The COVID-19 pandemic allowed dealerships to reevaluate and experiment with changes to schedules, staffing, practices, policies and processes, which generated a range of positive returns. Faced with social distancing and sanitization recommendations, dealerships adjusted daily operations virtually overnight without the preparation such big changes generally require. However, once lockdown restrictions were lifted, many dealerships quickly reverted to historical practices, forgetting the benefits they had been reaping. Examine ways to implement and sustain the innovative practices that emerged during the pandemic.

Georgia Munson, who brings a wealth of experience to NADA, was most recently with Berkshire Hathaway's XTRA Lease company. For nine years as a regional vice president there, Munson was able to improve ROI to make her region the most profitable for XTRA Lease. Before that, she was with the Faulkner-Ciocca Auto Group in Philadelphia for five years as a general manager and president. Munson began her automotive career at Ford Motor Co.
