Planning Your Congressional Visits
Maximize your Washington Conference experience and meet with your state’s Congressional delegation on Capitol Hill. Your congressmen, senators and their staff need to know the concerns of auto dealers, and as their constituents, you are the best people to
share your concerns directly with them.
While every effort should be made to schedule meetings directly with Members of Congress, it is possible that your meeting may be confirmed with a staff person that handles the financial services, commerce, or small business industries. Do not be discouraged. Staff members are key advisers to Members of Congress. They have their ear and are critical to Congress’ role on policy issues important to auto retailing. Please keep in mind that you likely will be paired with other NADA members from your state.
If you need assistance scheduling your congressional meetings, or would like an NADA staff member to accompany your delegation to any meetings, please contact NADA Legislative Affairs at 202-547-5500.
What Should I Say in My Meeting?
NADA will host a Prep Briefing to provide you with useful tips for your afternoon of congressional visits and important materials for you to share with your congressional delegation and their staffs.
Remember to bring plenty of business cards.
