Technology

Technology is revolutionizing the way dealerships can utilize and share business data among dealers, manufacturers and third parties.

NADA technology resources include:

DSP Vendors Survey Research from the NADA Information Technology Committee shows that overall dealership satisfaction with the Dealer System Providers (DSP) increased slightly in the 2007 survey.  One vendor made a significant improvement while others declined in satisfaction.  More dealers than in any previous survey indicated they are planning on leaving their current DSP vendor.
Dealership LAN and Internet Guidelines All facets of today’s dealership operations need networked PCs with direct access to manufacturers’ new Internet-based Dealer Communication Systems (DCS) and financial applications. Here's a comprehensive set of STAR IT guidelines for dealers to follow to get their entire dealerships on the Internet.
PC Purchase Program To help dealers and their employees purchase a wide-range of computers and computer accessories NADA has arranged discount programs with Dell, HP, and Lenovo.  Equipment specials are frequently available from these manufacturers. (Member log-in required.)

Through the Information Technology Committee, NADA addresses dealers' technology issues:

  • More dealer input to IT system development decisions.
  • Open system standards to foster competition and cut costs.
  • Open data access that will permit the transfer of data from one dealer system to another.
  • Direct dealership purchase of computer hardware.
