NADA Executive Biography
Joseph L. Cowden, vice president and chief financial officer, directs all financial and treasury operations for the National Automobile Dealers Association, NADA Services Corporation and other affiliated entities. His areas of responsibilities include financial reporting, budgeting, investments, real estate and taxes. Mr. Cowden was most recently the director of corporate compliance for NADA. Prior to joining NADA in 2002, Mr. Cowden was a consulting CFO working with technology companies in the Washington, D.C. area. He also served for five years as the controller of the American Automobile Manufacturers Association and worked in corporate finance/accounting for Watson Wyatt Worldwide. Mr. Cowden is a CPA and began his career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers).
Mr. Cowden holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently resides in Vienna, Virginia with his wife Mary and their two children.
