Betsy Piper/Bach is Vice President of NADA Retirement Administrators, Inc. (NADART). Prior to joining NADART, she was president of Cardinal Wealth Management, Cardinal Bank, McLean, Va., which is the trustee to the NADART Retirement Plan. Piper/Bach began her career in the financial services industry as the director of broker training and investment management consulting for Dain Bosworth, Minneapolis, Minn. Following Dain Bosworth, she joined John G. Kinnard, Minneapolis, Minn., where she led both corporate and broker training as well as the investment management consulting groups.
Piper/Bach then joined Brenton Bank, Des Moines, Iowa, as President of Brenton Investments, which was comprised of investment brokerage, trust, investment management, private banking and retirement plan recordkeeping services. She also served as Chief Financial Services Officer for Brenton Bank until its acquisition by Wells Fargo. Returning to Virginia, she joined Foliofn, Inc., Vienna, Va., as Managing Director. She moved to Friedman Billings Ramsey in 2001 at which time she began working closely with NADA in various activities related to cash management, investments and eventually as trustee for the NADART retirement plan.
Piper/Bach graduated from St. Cloud State College, St. Cloud, Minn., with a BS in Special Education and from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., with a Masters degree in Education. She received a juris doctorate from CUA Columbus School of Law.
Piper/Bach is active in the financial industry as an executive director of the board of the Investment Management Consultant Industry and as an executive director of AdvisorShares, Inc. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the American Bar Association. She is a certified financial planner (CFP), certified investment management analyst (CIMA) and certified trust and financial analyst (CTFA).
As a subsidiary of NADA, NADART — based in McLean, Va. — has managed and administered 401(k), pension and profit-sharing plans since 1957. It offers retirement plans to companies in all industries, as well as NADA members.
