H. Douglas Knust, president of Harry K. Chevrolet-Buick, Inc., in Chamberlain, S.D., represents that state's franchised new-car dealers on the National Automobile Dealers Association's board of directors.
A new-car dealer since 2003 and a member of NADA since 1986, Knust also serves as a board member of the South Dakota Automobile Dealers Association and a board member of the Sioux Falls Chevrolet Local Marketing Group and Sioux Falls Pontiac Local Marketing Group. Knust also is a member of the South Dakota Development Corp. and a former member of the South Dakota Motor Vehicle Consumer Protection Task Force. Both positions were governor's appointments.
Active in the community, Knust is founder and advisor of the CMS Explorers Club, a service organization for Middle School boys. He has served as a religious education teacher for St. James Catholic Church and a coach for Inter-City Junior High School basketball since 1986.
Knust was named an NFL/Ameriquest Mortgage Neighborhood All-Star in 2005. He was recognized as a "Friend of Education" by the Chamberlain (S.D.) Education Association in 1993 and 2002.
Knust earned a bachelor's degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., in 1982.
