Immediate Past Chairman
Dale Willey, president of Dale Willey Automotive, Lawrence, Kan., is 2007 chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association and represents the state's franchised new-car dealers on the association’s board of directors.
An automobile dealer and a member of NADA since 1970, Willey currently chairs the Executive Committee and serves on the Guide Company board of directors. Previously, Willey was NADA Secretary and a member of the Finance Committee as well as Chairman of the Dealership Operations Committee and Public Affairs Committee.
Willey is a past president of the Kansas Auto Dealers Association, past chairman of the Kansas Auto Dealers Worker’s Compensation Trust, vice chairman of the Kansas Dealer Review Board, and served on the Kansas AUTOCAP Committee.
Willey has served as chairman of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and the O’Connell Youth Ranch. He currently is a member of the Rotary Club and the Cosmopolitan Club.
The recipient of many civic and industry awards, Willey was a 1993 winner of the Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award, sponsored annually by Time, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and NADA to honor professional excellence and community leadership and was named the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year in 1995.
The National Automobile Dealers Association, founded in 1917 and based in McLean, Va., represents more than 20,000 franchised new car and truck dealers holding nearly 43,000 separate franchises, domestic and international.
