Secretary
Stephen W. Wade, president of Stephen Wade Auto Center, St. George, Utah, is secretary of National Automobile Dealers Association and represents Utah’s franchised new-car dealers on the association’s board of directors.
A new car-dealer and a NADA member since 1973, Wade has owned more than 20 franchises throughout Utah and has served on numerous automotive factory committees, boards and associations. Currently, Wade’s franchises include Chevrolet, Cadillac, Nissan, Mazda and a powerports store that includes Yamaha, Honda, Polaris and Suzuki. He serves on the NADA's Finance and Government Relations committees. Previously, he served as NADA's region IV vice chairman and on NADA’s Policy and Bylaws, ATAE/NADA and Industry Relations committees. He also served as president of the Utah Automobile Dealers Association (UADA) in 1981.
Active in his community, Wade is presently chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dixie State College and founder of Sun Trust Bank of St. George. He also recently became the owner of Southern Utah’s only TV station, KCSG. Wade has served as chairman of the Salt Lake County American Cancer Society and the State Chairman of the Utah American Cancer Society. He chaired special events of Utah’s Federation for Drug Free Youth and was an alumni board member for the University of Utah. Wade also served in the National Guard from 1969 through 1975.
The National Automobile Dealers Association, founded in 1917 and based in McLean, Va., represents more than 20,000 franchised new car and truck dealers holding nearly 43,000 separate franchises, domestic and international.
