John Symes, president of Symes Cadillac, Inc., Pasadena, CA, represents that state’s franchised new-car dealers on the National Automobile Dealers Association.
Symes became a franchised dealer in 1982. He is currently on the association’s Dealership Operations and Information Technology committees. He is vice president of the Los Angeles Motor Car Dealer Association, a trust board member of the California Motor Car Dealers Association (CMCDA) and on the service board of CMCDA. Symes is also on the Cadillac Mediation Board. Previously, he was president of CMCDA, served on the Cadillac Dealer Council and was part of the Land Rover Presidents Cabinet.
Active in the community, Symes is a board member of the San Gabriel Valley Boy Scouts. He was also a board member of the Arcadia Methodist Hospital.
Symes received the Good Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
He graduated with a B.A. in Social Science at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
The National Automobile Dealers Association, founded in 1917 and based in McLean, VA, represents more than 20,000 new car and truck dealers, holding over 43,000 separate franchises, both domestic and import.
