Ted Russell, president of Ted Russell Nissan and Ted Russell Ford Lincoln Mercury in Knoxville, Tenn., represents that state’s franchised new-car dealers on the National Automobile Dealers Association’s board of directors.
A franchised dealer and member of NADA since 1971, Russell served as president of the Tennessee Automotive Association in 2000 and was president of the Knoxville Dealers Association in 1996. He has also served as chairman of the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission.
Active in his community, Russell volunteers for the Center of Hope, a charity that provides meals to needy children, and Race for the Cure, which benefits cancer research. He has also volunteered for the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital since 2003. Russell served in the Tennessee Air National Guard for six years.
Russell earned a bachelor’s degree from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn., in 1962.
