Gary H. Reynolds, president of Reynolds’ Garage at Maine, Inc., Lyme, Connecticut, represents Connecticut’s franchised new-car dealers on the association’s board of directors.
A new car dealer and a member of NADA since 1972, Reynolds is currently chairman of Subaru on the association’s Industry Relations Committee and is a board member of the Dealership Operations Committee. He is also director of the Connecticut Auto Retailers Association. Previously, he served as president of the Peugeot Dealer Advisory Council from 1991 through 1995 and was a member of the Subaru New England Dealer Council from 1999 through 2000.
Reynolds holds many positions in government sector, including treasurer of the Lyme Republican Town Committee, chairman of the Lyme Board of Finance, and harbormaster in Lyme.
Active in his community, Reynolds served as chief of the Lyme Fire Company from 1970 through 1973 and foreman from 1988 through 1990.
Reynolds has received many awards, including the Nozko Family Business Leadership Award by the University of Connecticut in 1996 and the All Star Dealer Award by the American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) in 1999.
Reynolds attended Babson College and graduated in 1965 with a BS in Business. He resides in Lyme, Connecticut where he is married with three children, whom are all currently employed at his dealership. For leisure activities, Reynolds enjoys antique fire trucks and Boating.
The National Automobile Dealers Association, founded in 1917 and based in McLean, VA, represents more than 20,000 new car and truck dealers, holding over 43,000 separate franchises, both domestic and import.
