Richard S. Genthe, president of Dick Genthe Chevrolet, Southgate, Mich., represents metropolitan Detroit’s new-car dealers on the National Automobile Dealers Association’s board of directors.
Genthe became a franchised dealer in 1976. Previously, he served as the president of the Detroit Automobile Dealers Association, chairman of the North America International Auto Show, and president of the Detroit Chevrolet Dealer Association.
Active in his community, Genthe currently serves on the board of trustees for the Sacred Heart Major Seminary. He is also involved with fundraising for the Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread Club, providing food and shelter to the hungry and homeless in his community.
Genthe earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1974.
He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife, Kathy. Together they have six children, many of whom work in the family business.
