Peter Barry, president of Barry Automotive Group, Newport, R.I., represents that state’s franchised new-car dealers on the National Automobile Dealers Association's board of directors.
Barry became a franchised dealer in 1988. Barry was president, vice president and secretary of the Rhode Island Auto Dealers Association (RIADA). He also was president of the Rhode Island Auto Workers Compensation Company.
Active in the community, Barry was vice president of the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island and a member of the Child and Family Services.
He also served in the legal council of the Rhode Island Senate.
Barry received the Rhode Island TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award from RIADA.
