William J. Adamson, president of Adamson Motors Inc., Rochester, Minn., represents Minnesota’s franchised new-car dealers on NADA's board of directors.
An automobile dealer and a member of NADA since 1949, Adamson has franchises for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Lincoln, Mercury and Hyundai. He is currently on the NADA/NADA Member Outreach, Convention and Regulatory Affairs committees. He previously was NADA’s secretary and vice chairman in region III and served on the association’s Government Relations, Industry Relations and Nominating committees. Previously, he was a trustee of the Minnesota Automobile Dealers Association where he served as president and director.
He is involved in both political and charitable fund raising and is active in his community.
In 1995, he was a national winner of the Time Quality Dealer Award, which is sponsored by TIME, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and NADA, to honor professional excellence and community leadership.
Adamson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
The National Automobile Dealers Association, founded in 1917 and based in McLean, Va., represents more than 20,000 new car and truck dealers, holding over 43,000 separate franchises, both domestic and import.
