That’s why the theme of this year’s NADA/IHS Automotive Forum 2012 — “Defining Success in the Automotive Industry: Staying Competitive in an Uncertain World” — is right on target. Held in New York City on April 3, the Automotive Forum 2012 is sponsored by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and industry consultant IHS. The New York International Auto Show hosts the event at the Grand Hyatt New York.
The day-long forum brings together dealers, automakers, analysts and financial providers to discuss various economic factors that will affect the industry as a whole—and your individual slice.
Along with timely speeches by some of the industry’s top decision makers, the program features in-depth Q&A sessions, panel discussions and networking. There will be plenty of great take-away lessons to use when devising your own short- and long-term goals.
Here are just a few of the top-level executives slated for the forum:
• Keynote speaker Carlos Ghosn. You know him as the chairman and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance. Do you also know that he is the winner of CNBC’s 2011 Asia Business Leader of the Year Award? That’s not surprising when you consider that one out of every 10 cars on the road worldwide are produced by one of his auto manufacturers.
• Lawrence D. Burns. The co-author of Reinventing the Automobile: Personal Urban Mobility for the 21st Century highlights his vision of future transportation. Burns, who holds a host of degrees, including a doctorate in civil engineering, has decades of experience in the upper ranks of General Motors.
• Nariman Behravesh. The oft-quoted chief economist of IHS and author of Spin-Free Economics: A No-Nonsense, Nonpartisan Guide to Today’s Global Economic Debate has the rare knowledge to provide economic insight for the U.S., Europe, Japan, China and various emerging markets.
