The WorkStar shares the same heritage as the International MaxxPro MRAP, a common mine-resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicle used in the Afghanistan and Iraq theaters. Built on the same chassis, the WorkStar provides the ruggedness and durability incumbent of the American military with additional severe-duty configurations and applications. Equipped with Navistar’s own proprietary 13-liter engine (N13), now with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, the compact graphite iron N13 delivers high-strength without added weight and results in significant weight savings over traditional big bore engines cast from gray iron.
