Joseph J. Sanchez Memorial Fund

NADA Charitable Foundation

Joseph J. Sanchez

 Joseph J. Sanchez

Joseph J. Sanchez overcame many hardships, including childhood polio, to attain a college education and great success in the auto industry. He became vice president and general manager of the Oldsmobile division of General Motors and was the first president of the Saturn Corporation.

To honor the memory of this remarkable man, $7,000 is given annually for students’ emergency needs at each of four accredited private/independent colleges or universities. Schools select individual student recipients, based on their own criteria.

Since its inception in 1985, a total of 66 grants worth $412,000 have been presented in all of the 58 NADA states. Students throughout the country have been given a helping hand by the Fund named for a man who believed so strongly in the importance of higher education.

Current Recipients

Testimonials

"Over 96 percent of Misericordia students receive some kind of financial aid. Most are the first in their families to attend college. While these are very hard working and bright students, their financial means are often meager. Your gift can make a major difference in the ability of a student to remain in school." — Dr. Michael A. MacDowell, president, College Misericordia, Dallas, Pennsylvania
