The NADCF Emergency Relief Fund offers emergency assistance to dealership employees who have been affected by unforeseen emergencies and natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, etc. Established in 1992, over $4.1 million has been distributed to more than 6,500 dealership employees in need.
More than $3.3 million has been distributed to assist dealership employees affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas.
When disaster strikes, the Foundation:

Immediately informs the state dealer association that NADCF is prepared to help;

The state association gets the message to its dealers;
-
Dealers can apply for aid on behalf of their employees;
-
NADA picks up all administrative costs for this fund; and
-
All money donated to the Emergency Relief Fund goes directly to the dealership employees.

Two NADA-TV reports show how dealers and their employees in the hurricane-damaged Gulf Coast region are recovering with help from NADA. Both reports include interviews with NADA 2005 Chairman Jack Kain and NADA President Phil Brady as they visited dealerships in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Gulfport, Mississippi, and presented funds from the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation to dealers and ATAEs for distribution to employees.
